First off lets get that component installed. You should be downloading the components.zip
file from the docs and that has a YahooMap.mxp file archived inside.
Open this mxp and it should bring up the macromedia extension manager and ask your
permission to install it. Go ahead, it wont bite.
Next open or restart Flash and you'll see a new 'Yahoo' item added to the Components List
window. Expand that and voila, theres the map component. Drag that to the stage and set
the instance name (something like 'myMap' or simply 'map'). Then on the root timeline, 1st
frame you can start writing your AS or starting from one of the examples in the docs.
Unless youre using Flex1.5, then the Flex swc goes into your WEB-INF folder in your Flex
install on JRun or Tomcat server. But I doubt it.
Next up, to set the center of the map using a LatLon, you can specify a Lat and a Lon in
the property inspector in Flash with the map component on the stage selected. Here you
can also set a zoom level, address and map view type.
I've just posted a few examples of how to add markers in ActionScript with XML and
arrays, so take a look at those as well.
