That Btext looks ok, so maybe the tx audio is too low/distorted/high,
etc... I would definitely check that first.

settings for a fill-in digi:
My personal recommendations would be this as a btext:

Mainly, this would put an overlay of 1 on the digi star on users maps,
indicating at a glance its a fill-in digi.
Obviously your callsign is transmitted everytime it transmits, so no
real need in putting it in the btext again unless you were using a
different name for the digi other than your callsign (JACKTN for
