It is time to start thinking about the fall/winter sprints. Do you plan to
operate these events? Do you have any recommendations?

They are not scored events.
The primary reason to operate the Sprints, they are FUN!
They are scheduled on the last Wednesday from October to March at 0100 -
0500 UTC. NOTE THIS IS Tuesday night's local times...
Contacts are to be "Random Contacts" both two and six meters.
Activity Periods mean the call frequencies should be "busy".
Call frequency for Six is 50.260 and Two is 144.140 MHz Mode is FSK441
The Sprints allow for practice using random techniques.
New Initials can be used for the Random QSO Award or endorsements.

The original thought was that during the fall and winter months on a weekday
many stations would be available and willing to work an activity period
similar to random hour except longer in duration and scheduled for nights. I
don't recall who had the original brainstorm for these Sprints but
personally I have enjoyed them but they would be "mucho better" if more
Nobody knows exactly what they will be doing on those specific nights but if
you plan to support these events when available we would like to know. A
simple reply to this message will be good or if you have change /
suggestions reply to all via the reflector. Remember this is an East Coast
to West Coast event.
