Thomas, the WURFL API is built primarily to identify mobile devices and will err
on the side of considering an undetected UA as a mobile device. Having said
this, two things:
1) you may want to use a script/program to detect mobile devices and direct them
to the mobile pagr.
I created one such programs at some point:
but google will bring up similar ones.
2) in the future, we plan to improve the WURFL API in a way that desktop web
browsers are better recognised programmatically, so feel free to post (or send
offline) a list of unrecognized web browsers. No need to send a patch. This is
not how the WURFL API works with web browsers
