-More woes continue for the WCW as they lost another one of their
superstars to injury. Kevin Nash has apparently suffered an ankle
injury during a house show last week. It was this injury that kept him
off Nitro last night and possibly out of action for weeks to come. He
joins the likes of Goldberg, Bret Hart, Scott Steiner, Scott Hall and
Sting as some of WCW's biggest stars out of action. This hurts the WCW
as they try to regain their composure and struggle to book storylines
and matches after many of their stars have left the company and are
-WWF superstar The Undertaker has torn his pectoral muscle while
training for his return which explains why he hasn't appeared yet on
WWF TV. He will undergo surgery today and is expected to be out for at
least 4 more months while he heals. The WWF has not released an
official statement at this time regarding the surgery or the injury.
-ECW star Rob Van Dam suffered an ankle injury at a recent house show
while sliding into the ring. The injury is said to be serious and RVD
is expected to be out of action for at least a month while he recovers.
Jerry Lynn and Lance Storm were also injured. While Storm is expected
to return to action immediately, Lynn will be out of action for a while
and will probably miss the next PPV Living Dangerously.
-The WCW 4 that recently appeared at Raw last night are rumored to have
signed with the company for much less than what they were receiving in
WCW. Of course they will be given exclusive merchandising rights to
compensate. Although not confirmed, the numbers being thrown around
are that Malenko, Saturn, and Guerrero are all receiving somewhere in
the area of $250,000 for their services. Benoit's salary is rumored to
be approximately $400,000.
-ECW on TNN slipped a little this week as they scored a rating of 1.0.
Remember that you can catch all the action on TNN every Friday at 8:00pm.
-There is a lot of controversy in the national media spotlight
surrounding Mae Young's recent breast flashing at the Royal Rumble PPV.
Many news articles are scolding the WWF for selling pornographic
material to children. WWF Executive Jim Byrne has claimed that Mae
Young did not expose her breasts at the Rumble, but rather used a
prosthesis very similar to the one used in a scene in the movie
"There's Something About Mary." He claims that the only skin that was
exposed what her face and neck and that is the extent of it.
-Remember you can get your daily fill of up to the minute news at
www.WrestlingResource.com. With links to all your favorite wrestlers
homepages, fan sites, and news sites, WrestlingResource.com is your

-The ICP are back in the wrestling news again as they are trying to get
WCW star Vampiro to sign with their new federation Juggalo Championship
Wrestling (JCW). Putting their feet in their mouths again, the ICP
have been reporting on their hotline that they have in fact signed
Vampiro to a lucrative contract and he is expected to tour with them
soon. This is further from the truth. Vampiro is happy in the WCW for
the time being and has been receiving a large push with the company for
his efforts. It is rumored that the ties between Vampiro and ICP are
strained because of this.
-Shane Douglas is sitting on his full contractual release for the time
being waiting for his attorneys to plan a course of action for the WCW
wrestler. Douglas, the last remaining wrestler to be released from the
recent defections, is said to be sorting out his options before he signs
and wishes to speak with Bill Busch before he makes a bad decision.
-Hulk Hogan was at the Thunder tapings last week negotiating a deal to
return to television. Apparently a deal has been finalized and Hogan
may be appearing as soon as this weeks Thunder.
-Several Internet journalists are reporting that Vince Russo may be
back in power as head booker as early as this week with Kevin Sullivan
booking WCW Saturday Night. These reports have not been confirmed so
take them at face value.
******I think last night was the death blow for WCW. The WCW 4 made a
HUGE debut on Raw, Kevin Nash was out, and the main event was a
failure. Things could not get worse for WCW. I believe they need to
bring back Russo AND Bischoff to pull something major off. They can
only get better from here on out because they can't get any worse. The
WWF on the other hand is on top of the world. I went to Nitro last
week, but I found out this week that I'm going to......WRESTLEMANIA!!!!
Tell me what you think the WCW should do to recover...tell me what you
like about the WWF/WCW, what you dislike about the WWF/WCW. Email me

THE WCW 4 FIND A HOME
By: Greg Ragland
Unless you live under a rock somewhere around Santa Claus Arizona, you
know by now that the infamous WCW 4 (Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Eddie
Guerrero and Chris Benoit) are indeed now gainfully employed by the
World Wrestling Federation. While this isn't a huge surprise, it does open up
a load of possible storylines that the WWF can use with these four.
Back in WCW, each of them were midcard wrestlers (Unless you count
WCW's last ditch effort of making Benoit their Champ), yet they were
always among the best wrestlers, if not the best characters. Under the
tutelage of Vince McMahon, they could now step up a notch, and gain the
actual recognition they all richly deserve.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see the WWF have it's own
Cruiserweight division now, because with Malenko and Benoit in the mix,
it would be great. Not to mention that any 2 of the 4 would make a
formidable tag Team. Saturn is good enough to hang in the Hardcore or
IC Division as well. Plus, there was always some great wrestling
between each of these four and Chris Jericho. Imagine the possibilities.
On the flip side of the coin, however, each of them (With the possible
exception of Eddie G) need some serious work to get their mic skills to
the next level. What good is a Feud that is only action, and no trash
talk? Only time will tell if they can each attain the Mic skills they
most assuredly need.
WCW, I have to tell you. You messed up very bad by letting these four
walk away. Just how bad it will be to you has yet to be seen. But take
my word on this, if these four make it in the WWF, you can bet your
bottom dollar that more will follow their example, and head North.

SLAM OF THE WEEK
By: Trevor Crenshaw
Some days I only have so much in me. Today I used almost all I had to
do up the Trivia segment. Therefore I'm going to give you all I have
left. Here it goes....
A lot happened this week. A lot of things could be considered "Slam of
the Week" material. The question is, what should I pick?
How about the return of Ric Flair to wrestling? Unfortunately I think
that Ric Flair has made more returns than Lex Luger has made heel/face
turns. I can't in good conscience give him the "Slam".
How about the impending return of Hulk Hogan? Well one can't deny what
Hulk Hogan has meant to this business. However honestly his return
doesn't excite me much.
How about Tori turning on Kane? Nope
How about Mark Madden replacing the senile Bobby Heenan at the Nitro
broadcast table? I'm a big fan of Bobby Heenan. He has given me some
great wrestling memories. However "The Brain's" time has passed and he
should let someone fresh and sharp take over. I'm not a fan of
Madden's. However, he's a much needed change in the broadcast lineup.
Unfortunately this was a one shot deal and wasn't earth shattering
enough to be awarded the "Slam".
How about the Radicals entering the WWF? This certainly is huge and
earth shattering. Four long time WCW performers jump ship. This
speaks volumes about WCW and how a once great company has been
squandered by a group of self serving leaches. I'm glad to see 4 men
with a great work ethic enter the WWF where they can be utilized.
However I'm not a big fan of any of these 4 guys, so personally the
jump held no magic for me. By the way, I wonder if Bret Hart wants to
run down Chris Benoit with his car now that he has (gasp) joined the
Well, this leaves only one event to be considered for "Slam of the
Week". My "Slam" goes to Kurt Angle being pinned by the Rock in
Angle's hometown. The reason I'm such an Angle mark is because his
character is that of an 80's hero. In fact if he would be doing his gimmick
in the 80's (short of his snide remarks) he'd be a huge face. Fast forward
10-15 years later and the same stuff doesn't fly. The greatest thing about
this is that Kurt was defeated in his hometown. Many wrestlers have been
known to not want to take the fall in their hometown.
Last week's Trivia Question was:
Name every wrestler who was part of the Four Horsemen since the unit
that consisted of Arn & Ole Anderson, Ric Flair, and Tully Blanchard.
Please include the 4 previously mentioned wrestlers in your list.
Surprisingly only 2 people got this question correct. Strangely enough
a lot of people left Brian Pillman out of their answers. A lot of
people also included Jeff Jarrett as a Horseman. Jarrett was never an
official Horseman. In fact that's what fueled the storyline. He was
an associate that started to think he was a Horseman and Flair and
company took exception to this. Butch Reed was also included by some.
Reed was never a part of the Horsemen. After his stint in the WWF as
"The Natural", Butch entered the NWA and was managed by Horseman
manager JJ Dillon. Dillon made it clear at this time that Reed was not
a Horseman but just someone he managed.
The answer is:
-Lex Luger (replacing Ole Anderson)
-Barry Windham (replacing Lex Luger)
At this time Arn & Tully jumped to the WWF and the Horsemen were no
more. This is when personally I consider the Horsemen truly dead. Any
further incarnations of the group are poor at best. After getting
fired from the WWF Tully goes to the AWA and Arn returns to the NWA.
He reforms the Four Horsemen this time as a face group. The men
included in this incarnation are: Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Arn
Barry Windham returns from a failed stint in the WWF and takes Sting's
spot in the group. The next man to be inducted into the group is:
-Sid Vicious (forcing Ole Anderson into a managerial role, there can
only be four)
Ric Flair leaves what is now known as WCW and heads to the WWF. The
four Horsemen are again dismantled.
Flair returns from the WWF and reforms the Horsemen with Arn Anderson
The group falls apart again. Years later it is resurrected. The new
lineup includes Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and:
-Steve McMichael (replaces Pillman when he heads over to the WWF)
-Curt Hennig (replaces Arn Anderson for a very short period of time)
Hennig kills the Horsemen by infiltrating the group and destroying it
from the inside. A year or so later the last incarnation of the
Horsemen included Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael, and:
So there you have it, 14 men in all can say that they were part of the
