Savannah Is Ready For "Kicks in 2006!"
There is still time to make your plans, but you'll need to hurry! On January
20-22, the Happy Wanderers are hosting their popular biennial event in
Savannah, Georgia, and are presenting eight walks, 1 bike, and 1 swim for
your Volkssporting pleasure.
You can still reserve a room at the official event hotels. There's room at
the Comfort Suites Historic District, (912) 629-2001 and the Hilton Garden
Hotel, (877) 245-8854. Ask for the Happy Wanderers Special Event Rate.
Pre-registration forms will be accepted as long as they are post-dated no

form somewhere, since no lines are specifically provided for it. A Special
Savings Coupon Book is guaranteed to everyone who pre-registers. It will
contain coupons from restaurants, shops and hotels worth a saving of a few
hundred dollars if they are all used.

Ballroom, on the second floor of the Doubletree Hotel, 411 W. Bay St. The
entire second floor of the Doubletree Hotel is reserved solely for the
volkssport event. The Event Headquarters will be extremely walker-friendly
and a great place to come and go between events.
The 8 walk events and the 300 meter in-door swim will be available all three
days. Six of the walks will be in Savannah, 1 in Ardsley Park, and 1 at

sidewalks. The walk on Tybee Island is partially on sandy beach. The town
walks are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, with difficulty, due to
