I wish that it was only the check spring. The granddaughter unscrewed the assembly, removed the tension dial and tension discs then proceeded to grab the spring that applies pressure to the discs and stretched it out. All that is left is a stretched spring and the screw for tension control. Nothing else is left. I will be getting the cams and feet given to me. I also need to take the motor apart and work on it. Plugged it in and nothing. I have my work cut out for me.

If the check spring is damaged, you can replace it without having to replace the entire tension assembly.
