MAY 3RD, MONDAY, 5:30-7:00PM: Plant Propagation: Rick Durham will discuss practices for successfully propagating plants, both indoor plants and those in the landscape. There will be a short hands-on project that will allow participants to try their hand at propagating a few common house plants. Please bring along some hand-held pruners or old scissors to cut stems and leaves. Plants, potting mix, and some small containers will be provided. Cost: $10 ($8-Friends)
MAY 6TH, THURSDAY, 5:30-7:00PM: Planting a Fruit Garden: Dr. John Strang is a Fruit and Vegetable Extension Specialist at UK . He will teach the proper site selection and preparation for planting blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. Participants will have a chance to help with planting the small fruit garden at The Arboretum. Cost: $5 ($4-Friends)
MAY 8th, SATURDAY, 10 AM: Plant Exchange: Bring your extra plants, trees, shrubs, supplies and even compost to The Arboretum and go home with new treasures. Registration begins at 9am. Exchange begins at 10am and is usually over in 15 minutes! Cost: $1 (Friends free)
JUNE 6, 4:00-7:00PM: Gala in the Garden: – CALL FOR INFORMATION!
JUNE 14-17, 9 AM – 4 PM: ‘Nature Naturally’ Botanical Art Workshop: Artists Olivia Braida and Leslie Ramsey offer this popular workshop. Open to both beginners and advanced. Early enrollment is recommended as class size is limited. Cost for 4-day course: $475 ($450-Friends).
