Something changed yesterday. Now the nuvi thinks it can no longer talk
to the T2-135. I shows the alert on the screen of the nuvi and no
commands will transfer. I don't belive it is Smartbeaconing, but it
acts like it is transmitting when you power on the radio or key the mic.
I am able to communciate with the T2-135 via a laptop running otwincfg
( running in wine under Linux) as well as via minicom (after changing
the port type to auto from Garmin). ( Yes, I did change it back to
Garmin -- I have checked several times.)
I opened up the male DB9 connector case and reheated the solder joints,
thinking that they may have broken.
Since I have communications through the Port A on the T2-135 with the
laptop, is it safe to assume that the problem is in the Garmin
commnications cable or in the Garmin? How do I check those?
Even though I was having trouble getting packets seen, when they were
seen, they were reporting with GPS locations along my route -- that is,
the nuvi WAS communicating with the TNC/Radio.
Any ideas on what to check and how to check it?
Many thanx................. jt
