Subject: Fwd: Dolma Choephel hospitalized / please come out and support the hunger strikers soon
Today was day 30 of the hunger strike. Tomorrow will be the one month anniversary. Please come visit the hunger strikers whenever you can. This is the most sensitive time. Today, there were rumors of Kofi Annan coming to pay his respects, but he didn't show. Maybe tomorrow, maybe never. It is a really inspiring and beautiful scene there, despite the fact that the remaining 2 strikers have grown very weak. Today there were over 100 Tibetans and some, but very few, "Western" supporters. Families, children, friends, activists, photographers and Buddhist monks all together in the sunshine. Most everyone is very friendly, and they will be very glad you came. Please note the change of venue: 42nd street and 1st avenue. Please come out for an hour or as much time as you have to give during this busy time of final papers and final exams.
Also, please scroll down to read the short NYT article by Daniel Wakin describing the scene and Dolma Choepel's collapse last night and subsequent hospitalization. Thank you for caring.
