THE watershed, that point in time when television networks can
switch from broadcasting safe, family friendly content to programs
containing adult themes, is under threat from free-to-air stations
keen to remove time restrictions they consider outdated.
Free TV, the network's peak body, has made a submission to the
Australian Communications and Media Authority calling for the ban on
adult content in certain time zones to be removed or relaxed,
allowing networks to screen more risqué programs before 8.30pm.
