Do what thou witl shall be the whole of the Law.
Tom has provided some balanced thoughts to the 'problem' of 'secret
initiation'; I think it was in his Magick Without Tears, that
Crowley pointed out that materials are only 'secret' in the sense
that an uninitiated person simply cannot understand them; for
example, I could not understand a calculus formula because I have
not been initiated into such mathematics.
Moreover, reading a Milton poem, for exmaple, at the age of 20 will
be different from reading it at 40 because one's life experience
will enable one to read the poem in a different, deeper, way; my
readings of Crowley's materials changes continually as I change as a
person; the materials change me, life changes me I read the Holy
Books again and I am changed again, and so on.
Even a single word like 'fire' means something different to me now
at 46 than it did when I was 16 (when i first started in Magick) -
so i guess you could say I have an initiated way of understanding
the word 'fire' than I did. Or maybe less!!
I would not be able to shock my students; that kind of thing is best
left to waching it on the movie Kill Bill II !!
Love is the law, love under will.
