The answer to your question is a simple one and may sound trite (which is
not my intention)... because they can.
To me, magick is a tool for self improvement/empowerment. If my magickal
practice (of self empowerment) would be better served with tools of the
trade that are rare and costly, then a ritual "to improve financial
wellbeing" would be perfect. However, I tend not to think of magick always
requiring tools of such rarity that I would have to do such a ritual... it
was just an example.
