I:40 "Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close
into the word..."
Well, *thelema* is Greek to me ;-) So, its numerical value, and that
it is written in Greek, is how I read it: Th/9, E/5, L/3, H/8, M/4,
A/1 ----> 9+5+3+8+4+1= 30, or 3. Three happens to be the value of
Gamma (again, the 3/13 --->key to probing the book.)
It seems to me that Liber aL caters to 2 audiences (an everyday value
and a hidden value): the Initiates and others (Thelemites, Children
of men, stars, etc.)
I:10 "Let my servants be few & secret, they shall rule the many & the
known." --->*thelema* is a known; and, those who see *thelema* and
identify it as the word of the Law demonstrate they live and perceive
the mundane; thus, being ignorant of the mysteries. Love, and Love:
doves/thelemites/31 & serpents/servants/13.
Thelema means "will", yes? And Thelemites exercise their will? :-)
Do they? Or do they fool themselves, falling prey to illusions? Are
they in fact extensions of another will? Whereas the servants
understand "will", they know the Law, the design, and seek to
navigate it. Thelema is a sense of falsehood, whereas the servants
take a knowledgeable approach and understand they serve. Thelemites
are lost in their own universe (Every man & every woman is a star),
the initiates are aware they are extensions of thee universe (which
all 'stars' are subject to. Sacrifice oneself to the greater to
become the greater. "How is man to be unto God, if anything of man
remains in man?"
Is the use of the number 3 coincidental? To understand and follow
one's "will"...does that mean to see/realize/identify your
self/higher-self/future and pursue this even though it has been
predestined/predefined? ...3 Fates, 3 Graces, 3 wyrd sisters, the 3
Norns; don't they weave the universe, the Law? :-)
Sorry for a sloppy response: In my opinion, Thelema is really no
different than mainstream Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or
Buddhism...any & all religions twisted by the fantasy (fanciful
desires) of humanity. Hell, that could include me! lol.
Woe unto mankind, for we are the worshippers of Death, by blood;
thus, the universe annihilated.
Reminds me about Ananke, the Goddess of Law in ancient Greece: She
represented the unalterable: The Law is always. So, she was rarely
worshipped, people preferred to find other gods to answer their
prayers....did they, do they meet with success? Or is it all part of
the master plan?

What are your thoughts on runes and Liber aL? In I:57 "All these
letters of my Book are aright, but tzaddi is not the star..." And,
my take is that the "Book" in question is Liber aL, which is English
(a Germanic derivative.) In II:27 "runes" is mentioned, & in other
passages throughout the book, English, as language, is emphasized.
Then we also have III:47 "...then this circle squared in its failure
is a key also." The swastika as failure; a matter of Finite logic
versus the logic of Infinity: Formula 666. [a hint for those that
are reading: if you square the circle properly, you can create
the "Key of it All" & shed some light on II:76 without gematria.]
I'm not a real fan of the runes (or much else, for that matter...you
could say I'm anti-rune & anti-gematria :-) lol) but the geometry is
> The grid was added by Crowley 25-30 years after the text was

Ah, and that's the beauty of the grid as found in Liber 31: it is
irrelevant! Only when it comes to creating the 'stele of revealing'
(not to be confused with that stucco thingy of Egypt) will you get
the same grid. The 'stele of revealing' is done by following the
instructions of the book: Nuit's word, translating the book into "all
tongues", stele 718, the new values, pasting the sheets, & etc.
That's why I was curious who drew the grid. Being Crowley, there is
no way he undertook the 'stele of revealing.' Shit, I've read his
comments to LaL: what the fuck was that? LOL! Crowley is certainly a
Thelemite. Or, he delighted in disinformation; something I wouldn't
put past him. It seems he had a love/hate relationship with LaL from
its reception until the end.
