Dear John, thanks for your valuable tips in a direction which
provides me with more of Seabrook's works, which at this point i will
have a keen eye out for! Incidentally, i do have, what is i believe
an original hardcover edition of the 'Adventures...' Its in good
shape, though by no means mint. Its copyright, 1927 By Harcourt,
Brace & Company, Inc. (Published, September, 1927 Second printing
before publication, August, 1927)[: was that because it had been
printed in the journal - 'Asia' before appearing in book form?] My
copy: Printed in the U.S.A. By Quinn & Boden Company, Inc., Rahway,
The book has many photographs (mostly touched-up by hand)and
various other drawings and engravings of people, places and objects
as per their relevance to chapters in the book; some of which are
nothing short of quite extraordinary, if you like that sort of thing.
All in all, quite a handsome volume and 'am glad to have found it -
quite by accident (as many good finds one may come by). You say it
has considerable value attached. One wonders what it might fetch. Any
leads on a reliable appraisal? Again thanks.
