II. VOLUNTEER WITH THE UNITED WAY
My name is Cecily Jones, and I am a new member of TGWNN as well as the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator for United Way of Greater New Haven. I would like to share with you an opportunity to give back to the community and help those people who are most in need. On Saturday, October 25, the 2nd annual Project Homeless Connect will take place from 10:00 am-1:00 pm, at Wilbur Cross High School (181 Mitchell Drive, New Haven, CT).
Project Homeless Connect was founded in 2004, in San Francisco, with the intent to provide easy access to services that support the transition the of city's homeless off the streets and into housing. It is now implemented in 106 cities including New Haven.
This important event is a one-stop shop of health and human services for homeless individuals and families that is so crucial to many of our forgotten community members. By participating, you will be assisting in raising awareness of the services and resources available in the community and extending the opportunity for the homeless to connect with these services. This is a great event to network, meet contentious people, while helping those who are less fortunate.
Please visit our website at www.uwgnh.org, and click on Project Homeless Connect for more information and to register for the event. If you have any further questions, please contact me at cjones@...
or by phone, (203) 691-4211 any further questions.
I look forward to meeting and working with you in the future. Thank you in advance for your valuable time, effort and support.
