There is evidently an error in NA27 at this point. (I have found that Text und Textwert is generally less thrustworthy.) In these cases where you spot an error in the NA27, you should report it to the INTF, to Dr. Beate Kster who is working with the Nestle-Aland edition, koesterb@....WIth kind regardsTommy Wasserman

Thanks for that idea, Tommy. No, I only have the ECM for 1 John. I will buy the installment with 2,3 John and Jude next. I actually could not find it last time I tried. Does anyone on this list have it, and can tell me what it says for 048 in this variant?Maurice Robinson says that for the NA27 apparatus, 048 is part of Gothic M, and not listed for Lacuna, so the NA27 should be assumed to be indicating that 048 reads PARABAINWN.He goes on: " have someone at Taylor University check the collation data in Dale Heath's PhD dissertation on MS 048, since his was the editio princeps, and he appears to have been very skilled in deciphering this palimpsest.David Robert Palmer----- Original Message -----From: Tommy WassermanSent: Wednesday, December 10, 2008 1:42 PMSubject: Re: [textualcriticism] Maj. 048 in 2 John

For T&T Teststelle Nr. 79, about 2 John verse 9, and the variant PROAGWN v. PARABAINWN, there is a discrepancy in the apparatuses, that Daniel Buck has pointed out as a result of reading my critical apparatus.Majuscule 048 is listed as supporting PROAGWN in the Muenster online apparatus, but as having lacuna in the Text und Textwert. The NA27 apparatus does not treat Maj. 048 in its footnote about the variant, and the UBS apparatus does not have a footnote at all about the variant.I am going to assume that the work at Muenster's website is more current than the Text und Textwert, and correct my apparatus to show 048 supporting PROAGWN and not having lacuna. Unless someone knows for certain otherwise.David Robert Palmer.
