Well, it's the Big Day on Sunday and I've been doing lots of training in the pool and the sea. Kevin was correct that the UK sea temperature doesn't change much, sticking stubbornly to 13 deg C throughout the month of June - and I've nothing more than a pair of Speedo "budgie-smugglers" for insulation!
It was slightly sobering to see one of the entrants in last weekend's BHF sponsored cycle ride dropping down dead half way (four years younger than me too!) - but perhaps these events are designed as a cunning method of weeding out people who might become a future burden to the NHS.
