Never run a chuck at such high speeds. If you do, you’ll wish that you had paid more attention in that high school physics class.
The mass of the chuck will cause it to continue to rotate long after the lathe spindle has stopped.
Meaning that the chuck will unscrew itself from the lathe spindle and do unmentionable harm to shop equipment and possibly one’s self.
