Well, the Trek Fest Display didn't quite go as planned, but it went. The sound guy for TF did not have a system that could cover the field so the plan was to turn one of his speaker stacks toward the crowd and hopefully that would do. That decision forced us to shoot wirelessly with the laptop at the bandstand about a thousand feet or so away.
After 4 or 5 completely successful link-ups remotely, checking the system out, etc. with no warning and with less than an hour left before we were to shoot, half of the wireless system died (it consists of a Transmitter and a Receiver Box - the Receiver died).
So, a decision was made to shoot using the 'Wired' method and a mad dash at 9:55 ensued - we were to shoot at 10 - without sound. OK - fine - it worked - the show began on time. The Show was going fine (albeit quietly) until a malfunctioning (?) GFI outlet on the generator we were using took out our power and the laptop 'went away' (stopping the show while power was restored), just prior to the finale. Only then, the finale went. Never a dull moment in Pyro - huh?
Still and all, it was a good show. The sponsors were happy, etc. And; I would like to thank Andy (Lead on the show), and Erica Neuzil, Lisle Naumann, Randy Nissley, Dave Goodner, Dick Beals, Chuck Hart (who was not only key, but did not end up in the hospital this year!) and a new guy and his wife (who until just now, I realized I never did get their names) - I'll correct this at Tiffin Fest which they plan to attend - for turning out in the 90's heat to pull it all off.
As usual, I would ask those planning to attend Tiffin Fest on Saturday July 14th to 'sound off' so we can have a heads on who to expect. The Tiffin Ball Diamonds, Saturday am, about 10 am, on the far Southeast end of the complex. Thanks All in advance.
