You know, that's also a distortion of the original way things were. When
Steiner formed the First Class, he just said that, out of all the people in
the Society who would want to be in it (practically everyone), he would take
people who had been Society members for at least two years at the time. This
later became converted into a requirement to be a member for two years before
joining the Class.
I'm glad you cleared up that business about having to be a dues-paid
member to be on this list, anyway....
