I so very much enjoy your postings in your very clear and poetically
expressed English, and see no reason for you to change such a welcomed
style. Certainly my Franch is worse than horrible while your command of
the English language is excellent.
I have lost your corrrespondence due to my computer's silly
actions, so I visited the Steiner group's messages online [http://groups.yahoo.com/group/steiner]
in order to refresh my memory, and please remind me should I have
forgotten a point you addressed. In your 3 postings, you asked about
the prism Dr. Starman spoke of, and it's possible I may have one. If
this is indeed the same, it came with Heinrich O. Proskauer's *The
Rediscovery of Color; Goethe versus Newton Today*, 1986 Anthroposophic
Press, Spring Valley, New York. It is a wonderful discussion of
Steiner's and Goethe's color teachings, and I had no idea it was so
thorough, only buying it because I work with watercolors. I might also
recommend Steiner's lectures entitled *Color* and you may have come
across it already.
This posting of mine is more or less disjointed, and I'll use the
excuse that I don't have your postings in front of me! :) Well, that's
not a very good excuse, but true regardless so please, Friends,
overlook my poor composition.
Comets are fascinating, and I was interested that you mentioned
them. Somewhere Steiner said to the effect that Haley's comet brings
materialism, but I don't know if that is true of all comets. Certainly
the two coming at once very recently must have great significance, and
I am a poor student of astronomy, I'm afraid! Cosmology was one of the
last "fields" I seemed able to approach in studying Steiner, and even
though I had several works available, I always drew back away from it
for quite some time. But I did become "ready" to plunge into it, and
perhaps it was best to have allowed myself to heed a wiser guidance
than I consciously possess. This brings to mind your asking about Rick
Bobbette [R.S.W.Bobbette] - he and I corresponded for awhile during the
winter, and his email address at that time was rickbobbs@... or
that may be rick.bobbs@... or yahoo.ca, since he lived in Canada
at the time. He has a wonderful store of knowledge in his field, as has
Next in my notes are your exercises in retrospective every night
before sleep. My mentor and others have told me this is one of the very
important ones, but as you know there are others, such as the daily
mantras which you'll find in full at our web site in message 2702.
I looked that one up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/steiner/message2702/
but there is so much wisdom to be found in all this group's messages!
You'll love going through these! Somewhere is, I think, my posting of
the 6 basic exercises Steiner described so wonderfully in his "Occult
Science" which seem so very easy but are, in fact, quite another thing!
Where to find Steiner's books? Is there a Steiner Group anywhere in
your area? They usually have collections to borrow from, and there is a
Lending Library through the A. Society, I believe, which you should
find on the Society's web site as well as a lot of other helpful
information. It would cost a fortune to have to buy a large
Anthroposophical library, and one can gain very many works via download
at the e-library online and I have some from there which I have printed
out as well as some I've bought through Amazon.com and the A. Press,
Steiner Books, etc. Maybe a search from Google or another site might
help locate such books? There are some things in the Files section of
our group that can be downloaded, too.
Also, try Chris Bodame's site which contains quite a few A. articles
from old publications I typed for his collection at http://www.transintelligence.org/
These disjointed thoughts are quite a muddle and I'm sure I've left
out important points you hoped to hear about, Micheline. I do apologize
to All of you, and look forward to responses.
