PhD Scholarship in Exercise Science: Healthy Ageing
A PhD scholarship is being offered at the University of the Sunshine Coat (Queensland, Australia) to undertake a series of projects that will examine the impacts of ageing on physical and behavioural aspects of health. The effect of an intervention program addressing dietary behaviours, exercise capacity, physical activity, and psychological well-being will be investigated. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and conduct experiments or trials in their particular area of interest.
The scholarship offers a $19,231 tax-free per annum living allowance equivalent to an Australian Postgraduate Award plus all project costs.
Applicants should have an Honours (I or IIA) or research Masters degree in one or more areas of relevant study such as Science, Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Physiology or Psychology.
This position will be co-supervised by Dr Chris Askew (Exercise Physiology), Dr Fiona Pelly (Nutrition and Dietetics) and Ms Lisa Fraser (Psychology), and is available for commencement by early 2008.
