As part of a school project, I'm trying to use my freshly built super
cool rxtx+xtall to transmit some GMSK stuff, very short range...
I have not hooked up the DB9 stuff as my laptops don't even have
serial ports and that's where I'll be running the demo. I'm only
really interested in the TX I/Q so I can broadcast some GMSK for a few
seconds. My experiments last night didn't go well and I'm assuming I
need to use PTT (that does mean push to talk, correct?) to tell the
rxtx to broadcast the tx i/q.
Do I need to figure out the serial interface to get this to work? or
can I use the PTT_O, 12v, gnd, and PTT_I pads to make this transmit?
How hard is it to figure out that serial interface from scratch (ie,
without rocky)? Also, any relevant information that I don't even know
to ask for... please tell me.
(Sorry if my questions seem a little dumb, I'm a newb. What can ya do.)
