Hi Freedom Lovers!
** ? 2 ALL: HOW HAS THE INTERNET AFFECTED YOUR LIFE POLITICALLY?**
According to a Stanford study just released, 75% of American households are connected. The average person spends 3 hours/day on the net. That's ten minutes more/day than TV, and growing. Look at how the barriers have broken down between political hieracrchical groupings in the US. Theoretically, you can talk to anybody online, and anybody can talk to you - for better or worse.
Millions of people are instantly reaching millions of other people. Tomorrow's news is often in today's blogs, and on today's elists, websites and forums, where there's lots of information and ideas which never reach the mainstream media. Some see the net as the last free mass communication medium - the only way to get the truth out and to make friends with people of like mind. Some see it as a virtual tower of Babel, replete with messiahs, saints, stalkers, crackpots, and huge free supersized servings of mis- and dis-information. Nonetheless, the net continues to grow in importance, influence and visibility.
What about you? You're on a political list right now. There must be a reason. How has the net affected your life politically?
