This group continues to shift in and out. It does not show up on searches for Yahoo groups any more, and sometimes when I go to the messages it says it is an invalid group. Apparently the owner of the group, naboth675, aka Steve Johnson, has dropped out of Yahoo on that ID. This leaves the group without an owner, or, as far as I know, anyone with moderator rights. It would make sense that there is no moderator as the group is in an in between state.
I have to say that I am somewhat disappointed that Naboth, as we called him, just dropped the group without any kind of summation of the whole experience of being in and getting out of the fellowship of Wayman O. Mitchell, and the experiences that he had on these message boards. I do have to wonder if something happened to him? You never know when someone might leave this life, but I doubt if that is the case. He did make a few comments before he dropped off, and was basically saying that he was very different than he had been when he first left the fellowship. He was even listening to his former Potters House pastor's music again.
He was also involved in some church stuff in Kenya. He put a link up to a message board that related to his activities down there, but after that one year, I don't read anything more about him on that site. I don't know anyone from the "slammer" days who he keeps contact with. Maybe he does, and I just don't know it.
I wonder where he is at religiously speaking? That's one reason I would have appreciated some closing comments. I have to wonder if, at one point, he will abandon traditional Christian beliefs and develop his own spiritual beliefs? So many, who at one time were red hot disciples of Waymanland, have done that. Or, perhaps he will adopt one of the less orthodox types of Christian belief. Maybe one day we will hear from him.
I am not sure anyone will read this. Perhaps Naboth stops by from time to time to see if anything is happening here. Or, maybe he took down the group but this ghost of it still remains. If Naboth does read this, then he can always stop by on Escape From the Fellowship and leave a message. Or, he could go to Facebook and leave a message with Perry, George, myself, or one of the other ex members of the Potters House Fiasco who are on Facebook. I would like to know how he is doing.
The shifting sands of time are such that all things change. 6 years ago these message boards were humming with activity. These days, as far as I know, Escape From the Fellowship is the only Yahoo message board for ex members of Wayman's World with any measure of activity. Slam the Door has been gone now for 8 years, although I have a "dummy" message board with that name for any who might be looking for it, with posts mostly from Escape From the Fellowship with a link to that message board. At one time, Slam the Door was seeing 200 to 400 messages a week. Escape typically has 20 or less messages a week. But I'm still keeping it open for those who want it.
Well, this message board may vanish at one point. I am sure that ex members got a lot out of it in times past. Hopefully the day will come when the human race can have spiritual concepts without having exploitive religious groups. These religions are just so intertwined with the history of civilization, almost like constantly present parasites. It is hard to get rid of them, but maybe one day we will.
