Interesting... the stone "ovens"/hearths of pagan Slavic huts - which were
clearly the subject of reverence (pots regularly buried in front of them
etc.) - also seem to have been set in a corner facing the door. This
phenomenon is known from a number of sites in eastern Germany, the Czech
Republic, Poland and the Ukraine.
