New rider services building to open at transit center
Sound Transit will hold a grand opening today for its new rider
services building at the Bellevue Transit Center at 10850 N.E. Sixth
Street in downtown Bellevue. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. It's the last component at the transit center, which was rebuilt in 2002.
The $3.5 million center includes a Bellevue Police substation,
restrooms, bike racks, public telephones, customer service and rider
information. Later this year, a public art sculpture will be
installed at the transit center.
There is no free parking nearby, but pay lots are available. Several
Sound Transit and Metro bus routes serve the transit center.
