I think we were talking about death march management attitudes...
I have actually encountered this myself - people afraid to ask for
time off to get married or help their wife have a baby, for heaven's
sake. Bosses who actually say "it's good for them to be under pressure
- if they are not they are not working hard enough". (Needless to say,
I didn't stay long there).
