As far as recent changes, have heard of none up here in Massachusetts.
As for "beading" similar to another training course, this has been

The Northeast Region has held a JLTC/NYLT Course Directors training the
same weekend as the WoodBadge Course Directors training at Camp Alpine
in NJ outside the "City".
The intent of the weekend is to bring BOTH adult & youth trainers
together to share their experiences on their courses with others. The
weekend session was especially important during the JLTC-NYLT transition
Contact Doug Fullman at the Northeast Region Office via their website.
The weekend is typically in September/October and is open to ALL
SCOUTERS in the BSA.
Always a good day to discuss NYLT!!

Hi folks, I am new to the group.
I am Tom Travis, Training Chair for Old Hickory Council in North
One of my professionals came back from a recent seminar with
information on the changes in NYLT.
The awarding of 3 and 4 beads to staff and course director I had heard
about. The control of the course by the regions and mandatory
attendance at a course director's conference (like Wood Badge) is
something I had not heard about.
My question is, is there anything official that I can look at? Has
anything been published officially?
