I've just started getting into bonsai as well! Most communities have a
local bonsai group, try googling your city's name with the word bonsai.

I just bought a book from the used bookstore called "Sunset Bonsai:
Illustrated Guide to an Ancient Art". It was printed in the 70's but
your local used bookstore might have it. It looks pretty good, lots of
pictures and info for newbies like me.
