Welcome to the Helms family! I'm a Great Lakes Helms owner myself (25'). You'll find that although there are a limited number of Helms owners active on the forums, the ones that are are VERY helpful.
Perhaps we'll share the wind some day on the inland seas!

Hello to all of you,
Thank you for your responses. I
DID IT. I purchased the 1977 Helms 24 today sold my Catalina 22 all in one day. I had some doubts when I went to see the boat last weekend but when I saw her I was very impressed with the lines, room and the quality of construction I think she looked a lot better than some of the newer boats that I had encountered. The boat needs some cosmetic work and the trailer needs to be repainted. Thank you for the pointers on the sails, it comes with main and 150 furling Genoa both older but they seem to be still crisp.I think that mine will be the only Helms in Ontario, Canada so I will look to all of you for wisdom and knowledge. Possible good links, brochures or technical info would be greatly appreciated at this point.
I will sail on Lake Huron (great water) out of Sarnia Ontario and I can't wait for the spring.
