I remember seeing somewhere that there are
several hundred Canadians missing; as far as I know,
there weren't any large Canadian firms with offices in
the WTC, though. One known Canadian was Ace Bailey,
former NHL hockey player, who was employed by the L.A.
Kings and was returning to L.A. for the beginning of
this season's training camp. I guess the terrorists
thought during their planning for this attack that they
would only be attacking the U.S., well, thanks to them,
many Canadian families are hurting as well. Canadians
like to think of ourselves as being tolerant and
multi-cultural, but I am beginning to wonder if these attitudes
will not be just a little tarnished from now own.
These attaks have not made us more responsive to the
attacker's agenda, but it will probably make us less open
and trusting than we were just a few days ago.
