I'm not up to date about aussie slang, but in the US there are at least
two interpretations of a statement about a young buck being on the make.
One interpretation is that a young buck wants more does in his herd. The
other is that he wants more "dough (dollars, dinars, euros, pesos,
rupees, shekels, etc.) in his hoard.
Gmail has two spell checkers for English now, one for the UK and one for
the US. Google probably has some of its minions working on a spell
checker for Aussieland English- and the next big thing might be
something for correcting slang and identifying it as modern, out of date
or really archaic, the way that my slang is.
