Henry Bill was a Connecticut State Senator who provided the impetus for the Bill Library in Ledyard, Connecticut. Undoubtedly he is the same Henry Bill who was into book publishing and second cousin to my great great grandfather James Leonard Bill. he was second cousin also to Capt. James Alexander Bill of Lyme, Connecticut; my great great grandfather's first cousin, the Confederate sympathizer, who named sons like Kansas Nebraska Bill, Lecompton Constitution Bill, and Jefferson Davis Bill,. While Henry was a Republican like Jepthah Geer Bill, my great great grandfather's brother and Connecticut State Representative from Griswold, Capt. James Alexander Bill was a Democrat. Capt. Bill also served as a Connecticut State Representative.
According to "The Acorn", newsletter of the Ledyard, Connecticut; Historical Society " an early 19TH century menu, based on food Henry Bill might have eaten as the 12-year-old he was the year Ledyard was incorporated",.

In closing FDR himself was twice a Bill descendant of the early Bill's of New London County, Connecticut. See Bill Family under http://polticalgraveyard.com
which needs updating not all have a Bill tie-in by marriage or blood..
Ledyard was taken from Groton, Connecticut; and incorporated in 1836, as its own town.
