Paul Revere was Grand Master of the Masons in Massachusetts. Other notable Massachusetts Freemasons were Daniel Shays of "Shays Rebellion", John Hancock, Leverett Saltonstall, and James Naismith, founder of Baketball. Revere's house notes his Masonic leadership. Grand Master is like state president of an organization or some countries national president. There is also provincial Grand Masters that take in sections of countries such as in England.
Notable Grand Masters include Andrew Jackson, (Tenessee); Harry Truman, (Missouri);
John Marshall, (Virginia); Earl Warren, (California); Daniel Tompkins, (New York); George Mifflin Dallas, (Pennsylvania); and Henry Clay, (Kentucky);. Benjamin Franklin was provincial Pennsylvania Grand Master.
