The REF-based positioning includes X and Y
justification by default (can be turned off via the NOJUSTX and/or NOJUSTY
commands) such that the popup will slide left, right, up or down relative to the
specified REF-based position so as to stay within the window. But there is
no internal code for automatically changing the REF-based positioning in the
flipping (rather than sliding) manner you desire. The HAUTO and VAUTO
commands do flip the popup display to the left versus right or above
versus below with respect to the cursor, but those commands don't apply
to REF-based positioning. Sorry.

Subject: [OLmws] Dynamic pointer popup
positioning w.r.to reference object
I am using sticky
popups with relative positioning to an image. On mouseover the image, I show
the popup with image details.
I need to be able to dynamically change
the position of the popup to the left or right of the image , based on the
image position relative to the window (browser). For example, if the image is
too close the right corner of the browser, I would like to show the popup to
the left of the image.
Is there any combination of commands/plugins
that i can use to achieve this. I want the popup to always stay within the
I would appreciate if somebody can provide pointers on
how to implement this behavior.
