I hope that the chartered plane is not for all the clergy. God Forbid something happens to the plane, we would loose many Bishops and clergy....

JRS: In reality, those who are still opposed to reconciliation do not want to "wait another
Their goal is to stop the reconciliation process, permanently.
A year from now, it would still be "too soon"; 10 years from now, ditto.
20 years would still be way too early for them.
30 years, 40 years, 50 years would be "rushing head over heels" into "precipitate, ill
considered and premature union"!
And, as I wrote on another list, most of this "distress and confusion" is not a spontaneous
reaction at all: it's something actively cultivated, by deliberate misinformation.
Furthermore, May 17 is indeed "already carved in stone":
The specific plans and arrangements, including chartering an airplane, arrangements
made by people to be away from their jobs, scheduled events such as the dedication of the
New Martyrs church in Butovo, cannot be canceled at the last minute: at least not without
causing a major disruption.
That would be a public embarrassment and setback for ROCOR, a financial loss, not to
mention a "crisis in confidence" for the supportive majority.
It would also be just the thing to embolden those who are working so hard to confuse and
frighten ordinary ROCOR members.
Such a last-minute delay could not help anything: it would only increase the "distress and
