Hey there all of your fans of a cappella harmony.
Rich Taylor here, the President of THN...The Harmony Network. I know
you all see the show postings of the 4 shows on the air at the present
time. And, even though the majority of you are NOT in the Northern NJ
and New York City area, some of you ARE and many of you have contacts
in that area. So, I thought I would come to you for assistance.
THN...The Harmony Network wants to expand it's programming to include
several new shows that will bring more contemporary a cappella, vocal jazz, and
other non-barbershop harmony to the airwaves. The studios for THN...The
Harmony Network are located in the town of Upper Montclair, New Jersey, about 40
minutes from mid-town Manhattan and accessible from the NJ Transit Train
lines. In fact the NJ Transit Station is 1 block from the studios.
We want to find hosts for three shows:
1) The FIRST is a replacement for the East Coast Acappella Review that
aired from 2004-2006 on Wednesday nights and featured all Doo Wop and Street
Harmony. Linda and Garry Cascio did a marvelous job of building the
audience and presenting a very informative and lively show. They hosted
several groups including the Persuasions and Blue Jupiter during their time at
2) The SECOND show would be a show that featured Collegiate and High School
A Cappella groups. We have a good number of CD's in our library, however,
the Collegiate and High School resources have not yet been tapped and there are
literally hundreds of groups that have recorded and whose CD's are
3) The THIRD show would be a show featuring Gospel and Inspirational
Music. This show would tap into the full Gospel A Cappella Genre as well
as the hundreds of songs that are "Inspirational" in nature. Many of
the barbershop groups have songs AND full CD's that fit this Genre.
Currently shows air on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7-11:00 PM
Eastern times. All prospective show hosts would have the choice of show
times that are not already taken. The shows must be a minimum of 2 hours and can
be up to four hours in length. Shows on the air now operate with either a
Solo Host or a team of 2 people. If the Host has an assistant, the Host
has more free time to create the personality of the show, with the assistant
operating the controls. The current library includes over 500 CD's from
all genres of a cappella and barbershop harmony groups.
No experience is needed, but the new Hosts will have to learn how to
operate the equipment, and how to sign on and off the station that operates a
24/7 broadcast of classic rock and roll music. The training can be done
within two evenings, and current hosts will assist the new hosts for the first
couple of shows. All of the show hosts are unpaid, however, the benefits
include attending local shows as guests of the headliner groups, and the
opportunity to meet the greats in the industry. All show hosts can invite
groups to do live appearances in the studio as promotion to upcoming
concerts. Many groups are happy to appear live.
If you are interested in discussing a possible show for THN...The Harmony
Network, send me an email at RMTMUSIC@...
. Include your name ,
contact information and a short paragraph about what kind of a show you would
like to do. If the show is one that is mentioned above, great....if you
have another idea...please let us know. The future of our Network includes
a vision of having live shows being broadcast from all over the world. But
to get to that point, we need to establish the base shows and develop a base of
on-going financial support.
I look forward to receiving your email...and to talking to you about your
potential as a Show Host of your own show on THN...The Harmony Network.
Rich Taylor, President
