IBMA Entertainers of the Year The Grascals are currently on tour bringing their no-holds-barred take on traditional bluegrass and country music throughout the U.S.
The Grascals’ latest album on Rounder Records, Long List of Heartaches, features guest appearances by George Jones, Dierks Bentley, Steve Wariner and the Jordanaires. Currently #2 on the Bluegrass Unlimited Album chart, the album received a Grammy® nomination for Best Bluegrass Album (as did their self-titled Rounder debut). The group won the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Entertainer of the Year award last September, just one year after winning Emerging Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Me and John and Paul.” They have also won SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) Awards for Bluegrass Band of the Year (2007) and Instrumental Group of the Year (2007 and 2006). In February, The Grascals performed with their good friend Dierks Bentley on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
The Grascals have been added to the list of performers for the 2007 CMA Music Festival, to be held June 7-10 in Nashville. Recently they have been in the studio with their mentor Dolly Parton contributing to her forthcoming album.
