I would like to configure my Apache server so that I can proxy
some connections to other local or remote servers transparently. A bis
example would be to access the own NSLU2 web management which is on
port 80 when my Apache runs on port 8080, this way, I only redirect
the port 8080 on my router connected on the Internet.
I've tried to use the ProxyPass/ProxyPassReverse directives but
unfortunately, absolute paths are used inside the web pages of the
nslu2 management. I tried doing a workaround by using the mod_rewrite
module with a condition on the referer, but there again, if I go
deeper in the pages of the nslu management pages, I lose the referer
and can't proxy the next pages.
After searching the net, I found out the the mod_proxy_html module
woul be the solution to my problem as it is designed as a complement
to the mod_proxy_http to update the page contents and not only the
headers... Unfortunately, the mod_proxy_html isn't in the apache
ditribution I got with ipkg and compiling a new module is all greek to me.
Could anybody having a compiling environment or some knowledge
help me get a hand on a compiled mod_proxy_html module ? The source
code for this module can be freely downloaded from
Well, if anybody have another type of workaround to that, it will
be very welcome but I doubt that there is any other solution. Further
to that, I want to proxy more things than the nslu admin pages such as
my network camera, and they all have similar problems with the paths.
Thanks in anticipation for your help.
