I am using the NSLU2 together with a Siemens SE515 Router and a
Western Digital Essential 160 USB harddrive. All compoments use the
latest firmware versions. The NSLU2 is set to receive its IP via DHCP.
Because I am using my network only for several hours in the evening, I
power everything up and down on a daily basis.
Now what happens every day is that I have to boot the NSLU2 twice. I
know that sounds weird, but here is what I have to do:
- Turn on the router and wait until it has fully booted.
- Turn on the hard drive.
- Turn on the NSLU2.
The NSLU2 will boot, but the upper LED (ready) will remain yellow.
The second led (ethernet) is green.
The hard drive is connected to USB2. This light is off.
- Cut and reattach the power from the NSLU2 and restart the NSLU2.
Now it will boot up nicely.
Does anyone have an idea why this is so? Why does it not recognize the
HD in the first place? I also tested the procedure with the router
turned off, and I experience the same behaviour. This problem is
