All of the advice you've received so far will work fine.
There is however another way to handle this which will be immediate and will stop the double post syndrome.
One note, if you haven't yet signed up for a Yahoo Account (Yahoo email address) you will have to do so before you can do the following. (You never have to use the Yahoo account for email but you need it to access My Groups) Just go to Yahoo.com and pick on Email and sign up. BTW Yahoo mail is free for Web Mail but they charge for POP mail.
and log in (Yahoo Email Address and Password)
If you don't see any/all of your groups, click on the "Don't see all your groups?" in the lower left corner of the screen and follow the instructions in the new window. You will have to use your "OLD" email address to find all of your groups.
Then go back to the My Groups page and select the Email Preferences tab and create an "Alternate Email 1" (your new preferred email address) and select it as your "Primary Email Address"
Then go back to the My Groups page and pick "Edit My Groups" and if the new address isn't already selected in the Email Address pick boxes for each group, then pick the down arrow and select the new address.
Once you get all of this done, then you can go back later and remove the old email address.
This allows you to handle everything in one shot rather than having to Unsub and reSub for each individual group.
