You know, I always found it odd that people have nice stills, and yet for some reason people are reluctant to distill water for there spirits.
A friend had asked me how she could prevent the off taste that she got when she cut her spirit with water. I had suggested to do as I do and use distilled water for cutting. She did and her off-taste disappeared. She, like myself, only use distilled water for mixing and cutting.
I cautioned her to only use distilled for cutting and mixing and not for making washes, as it will not have the minerals and such that the wash needs. When it comes to washes, I only use tap or spring water.
