The Bedford Gallery, a contemporary art space located in the Dean
Lesher Regional Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek, is seeking site-
specific installation proposals for a window space that faces out
onto the Civic Drive side of the Regional Center's plaza. Scroll
below for a diagram of the space and dimensions. A visit to view the
site is highly recommended.
Proposal should include:
1. A description of the proposed work's concept. What is the piece
about? What ideas do you wish to convey to the community in this
2. A physical description of the proposed artwork. What will the
installation look like? How will the installation's design and
materials convey the concept(s) of the installation? Include,
sketches, drawings, photographs, or other illustrations of the piece
as a whole and its components. What objects and/or other materials
will you use? What is the approximate weight? The window space
comes with glass shelves (which you may remove).
3. Installation information. What will be the dimensions of your
installation? What hanging method will you use? What are your
4. Proposal attachments. Include your resume, an artist's
statement, and up to ten slides of your work, each slide labeled with
your name, title of work, date, media, and dimensions. Also include
a self-addressed stamped envelope, if you wish your materials
returned to you.
5. Your name, address, and phone number should appear on every item
you submit. An e-mail address, if you have one, would be helpful.
