I just got home today from a family vacation...
I also wanted to thank you and the Mythcon organizing committee for a wonderful conference. It was so well organized and it all seemed to go so smoothly -- though I know that it rarely seems that way to conference organizers who have to attend to things behind
the scenes. I'm not sure I know everyone who was involved, so if you can convey my thanks to all of the organizers at some point, I would appreciate it.

I have finally finished work on cutting your essay for the teaching Tolkien volume, as MLA has requested I cut the entire manuscript by 5-10%. While I have succeeded in pruning a bit and in clarifying a few minor bits, I'd still like to find a way to reduce
it by another 50-100 words. But, I really can't see anything else I can cut without too much loss, so I'm not going to worry too much more about it. Of course, if you find ways to cut more, please feel free! Please review the attached latest revision and send
me back approved changes as soon as possible.
