This elevator is in the Marriott Hotel building it is behind the Au Bon Pain café and connects directly to the trail overhead. It is turned on and off and maintained by them ( Marriott). It is not always on.
I have addressed them about this. The security at the Marriott street level entrance can have it turned ON if it is not working. The METRO rail personnel next to that elevator have nothing to do with it. I have suggested that signs be posted on the elevator, both upper and lower levels, stating the hours of operation and who to contact (phone number) to report problems with it. One of the action items for this trail community could be to create a petition to get this done and the elevator properly maintained and operating on a reliable basis.
