Subject: [metalshapers] revisiting
bending 1/4" aluminum
Here's some pictures of the
I built for my Triumph after asking about
bending alum. I built it all from alum except for the fasteners and the
piece that the arm rides on which are stainless. I annealed the arm and bent
it in my press in an oak form I cut , then I polished it and heated it in a oven
at 530 degree's for 2 hours to retemper
it.The pivot is bushed with bronze and is
adjustable to fit the rider.
