Preview of Keynote, Polyamory Conference, Harbin Hot Springs, CA, Oct
Author and theorist Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio explains why poly
love's good for the planet. Today's Polys, she says, invented the
tools of highly ecological lovestyles that'll come in handy on a
global scale when the creation of a new politics of love that can
save planet Earth from human-made scarcity and self-destruction
Serena draws on her bi and poly lifestyle to focus on the inner
journey that made this awareness possible; she also draws on science,
spirituality, cinema, and community studies for objective evidence.
Her two books, Eros and Gaia, represent the double helix of her
life. One strand of the helix recedes into the pre-modern,
primitive, fetal, enfleshed, matrilineal, vaginal; the other strand
reaches to the post-modern, high-tech, cyborgian, prosthetic and
phallic. This double helix points to our need to share resources
including partners to create abundance and joy out of today's fear
She reviews intentional communities in India and Italy where living
as if Gaia was a living organism is consistently practiced.
Travel with Serena and the other polys at the Harbin PolyCon to the
futuristic, alien, and "other" to reinvent ourselves and survive.
