My first novel, SPELLBENT, lands in stores today. The Books-A-Million chain has evidently had it on their shelves since the weekend, but the fine folks at your neighborhood B&N and Borders should have it available now.
The book's been getting pretty good advance reviews:
"Snyder combines the best of Jim Butcher and T.A. Pratt in this wildly imaginative and intensely gripping urban fantasy trilogy launch. ... Threads of romance, horror, action, and humor weave throughout, serving as the perfect backdrop against which memorable characters and a unique system of magic can shine."
- Publishers Weekly starred review
"In Lucy A. Snyder's new urban fantasy, Spellbent, apprentice witch Jessie Shimmer is compelled to undergo trial by fire -- both figuratively and literally -- as she attempts to save her lover and the city in which she lives. ... Snyder's brand of urban fantasy is a bit darker and grittier than most, with many of the characters battling their own very believable personal demons as well as the supernatural variety. The character of Jessie also makes a nice change from the many heroines of urban fantasy stories in that Jessie actually spends more time worrying about other people than she does her clothes, and she relies on her brains and courage rather than sex to solve problems."
- The Green Man Review
"This fast-paced urban fantasy has a few twists that make it stand out from the pack. Yes, the plot moves quickly, but that doesn't stop Snyder from developing her characters and building her world. Fans of Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series should be pleased ...."
